Workplace volunteering and care vouchers – part of the business contribution to the “Big Society”?

Time 20 Oct 2010 16:00-17:30
Venue House of Lords

At our last meeting we discussed workplace volunteering and the care credit vouchers, which can be seen as part of the business contribution to the “Big Society” by fostering inclusiveness and linking business to the wider community. Two key issues under discussion at this meeting were the need to increase volunteering in an ageing society and the merits of rewarding workplace volunteering, for example with care vouchers. Our guest speakers were Professor Heinz Wolff, the Founding Director of the Institute of Bioengineering at Brunel University, and Sam Smethers, the Chief Executive of Grandparents Plus.
