Next steps in social investment
Nick Hurd MP, Minister for Civil Society; Dan Corry of New Philanthropy Capital; and Graham Lindsay of Lloyds Bank were the guest speakers at a reception held on 11 December to discuss next steps in social investment. The refreshments were kindly been sponsored by Lloyds Bank. The event provided an opportunity to review the progress achieved since 2012 in creating a social investment market in the UK, to consider the obstacles impeding faster progress and how these could be overcome. Members also discussed alternative ways in which businesses can support social change, including the role of Business Connectors, in helping to develop mutually beneficial relationships between businesses and their local communities.
