Constituency Responsible Business Champions Reception, Speakerís House, House of Commons

This APCRG held a reception in the State Rooms of Speaker’s House at the House of Commons on 15 July to celebrate the achievement of companies nominated by their constituency MPs as their Constituency Responsible Business Champions. At the reception, the Co-Chairs of the Group, Baroness Greengross and Jonathan Djanogoly MP, announced that London City Airport had been chosen by a Parliamentary judging panel as the winner of the Group’s first National Responsible Business Champion award. Declan Collier, Chief Executive of London City Airport, received the award for which the company had been nominated by Rt Hon Stephen Timms MP. The Co-Chairs thanked nominating MPs for helping the Group to identify companies that deserve to be celebrated for their outstanding positive impact at a constituency level. Ten companies were shortlisted for the national award and the name of the winning company will be announced at the reception. Jonathan Djanogly MP announced that Fujitsu UK and Urban & Civic were highly commended by the judging panel and congratulated Marks & Spencer, nominated by Rt Hon Nicky Morgan MP, as the runner up for the 2015 award. Baroness Greengross thanked National Grid, a longstanding member of the Group and Business in the Community’s Responsible Business of the Year 2014/15, for its support for the APCRG Responsible Business Champions award scheme.
